Long Awaited Update

Dear Loyal Fans,

We appreciate your dedication through our less than constant updates. We have resolved to be more consistent in our blogging this year, beginning with this very post! Also, be sure to check out the various changes and updates we have made to the blog, including the Photos and Video sections.

In the past several months, we have been busy with school and training for the regular collegiate season. We have raced against Springfield, Mt. Holyoke, Elms, Westfield State, and Wellesley, all of which were excellent meets. We finished off the first semester of our sophomore year and are looking forward to the Spring.

As for the Channel, we recently sent in our contracts to the English Channel Swimming and Piloting Federation to confirm our spots on the boats. Our captains have been confirmed as Mike and Lance Oram. Mike was the same captain who escorted the Smith swimmers who crossed the Channel over 25 years ago! We are still searching for flight deals and working out the details of our accommodations for our trip. We have also been in contact with the Smith College Clubs of London and Paris through the Alumnae Association of the college. We will be sending them a video soon, which we will also post here for your viewing pleasure.

Currently, we are on campus with the team, training twice a day and preparing for our big meets to come. In January, we have the Seven Sisters Championships, a historical meet filled with fun and camaraderie, as well as some solid competition. We will also be traveling up to Husson University in Maine towards the end of the month.

We look forward to hearing from our fans, and make sure to check back for more updates!

Mackenzie and Emma
